As part of the LEDP project, and with financial support from NABARD, CIDA enabled the first batch of 30 SHG women in Sironj to complete intensive training in handwoven durries and rugs. The sessions emphasised design diversification, advanced weaving methods, and readiness for local and urban markets. Women gained hands-on skills, developed entrepreneurial confidence, and prepared to enter commercial spaces. This foundation-setting programme marked the first step in revitalising Sironj’s weaving heritage while enabling women to convert traditional craft into dignified livelihood opportunities for their households and communities.
